Our philosophy is to develop an individualized, multimodal approach to treating pain. Different patients will respond to different treatment modalities and we'll help you discover which is best for you. The diagram below illustrates that many patients will need overlapping treatments to control their pain. When conservative treatments fail or cannot be tolerated due to the pain, interventions can be tried. A partial list of interventional procedures offered at Northwest Pain Specialists is below.

Multimodal Treatment Approach

Spinal Cord Stimulator

A spinal cord stimulator (SCS) may be an option for patients suffering from chronic neck and back pain who have exhausted other conservative therapies and who are not surgical candidates.

The purpose of a spinal cord stimulator is to provide enough low-voltage electrical stimulation to the spinal cord to mask painful signals being sent to the brain. Following a seven-day trial period, a small permanent device is implanted in the body.
